The third annual Canadian Underwater Conference and Exhibition will be held from October 24-26, 2010 at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel, only minutes from Toronto's Pearson International Airport. Pearson is Canada's largest airport with direct connections to cities throughout North America and Europe. The conference is the annual go-to event for commercial divers, military and public safety divers, diving contractors, ROV & AUV operators and contractors, their suppliers and the operators to whom they contract their services. Sponsors include major offshore and inshore diving contractors and equipment and service providers. Twenty-two speakers from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., in two concurrent streams of presentations, will captivate all attendees. Their technical papers will address latest developments in underwater techniques, latest advancements in tools and equipment, recent significant underwater projects, public safety diving, unexploded ordnance remediation, diving regulations, and the certification of divers and ROV personnel. The 10,000 sq. ft. exhibition hall will allow for 35 percent more exhibitors than at past conferences. This year the plenary discussion panel will focus on the training and qualifications of police, fire and rescue divers. Provincial, State and local police forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Coast Guard and other public agencies will be invited to participate in what is becoming an iconic event. The 2011 Conference will be held in Vancouver, BC, recent host of the Winter Olympics. The call for papers is open, and opportunities still exist for sponsors and exhibitors. Details concerning the conference can be found at www.underwaterconference.ca where you can also register online.
